Although we have no real sense of when it will be, one of the many things that the Mass Participation industry and others are starting to look at is what the “new operational normal” will be once events can take place again.
Whilst these times are clearly unprecedented there have been events that may present some indicators. Clearly the Boston Bombing changed security requirements. March 27th was the 25th anniversary of Magic Johnson announcing his retirement due to HIV which had a knock-on impact on medical protocols in sport and no doubt post COVID-19 requirements will change the way we deliver events for ever.
I believe we have an opportunity as an industry to get on the front foot – to collaborate across verticals and countries to share ideas that can be taken to government agencies rather than wait for guidelines to be imposed on us.
I’m delighted to be joined by Michael Nishi, Partner of Chicago Event Management and Hugh Singe, Managing Director of Event Health Management and Medical Director of Singapore Marathon in a free Masterclass to discuss “The New Operational Normal”
