After 10 amazing years in Asia, Mass Participation World 2027 makes its European debut in Belgrade, Serbia.
Held alongside the Belgrade Marathon and the European Road Running Championships, MPW27 will bring together event organisers, brands, destinations, federations, governments, technology providers, investors, and community leaders from around the world to explore the future of movement, health, tourism, and human connection.
THEME
Themed “Mass Participation for Humanity: Sport for All”, the conference will further explore how our industry can play an even greater role in creating healthier populations, stronger communities, more vibrant destinations, and a more resilient future for all.
As the global movement economy continues to evolve, the role of mass participation sport has never been more important. What was once viewed primarily as recreation or competition is increasingly being recognised as a powerful force for healthier populations, stronger communities, more vibrant destinations, and more resilient economies.
The opportunities before us are immense: Participation is growing globally. New technologies are transforming how people discover, engage with, and experience sport. Cities and destinations are recognising the value of active lifestyles and sport tourism. Employers are increasingly investing in movement as a pathway to healthier and more productive workforces.
Yet, significant challenges remain. Physical inactivity continues to rise in many parts of the world, health systems are under pressure, social isolation is increasing, and our industry remains fragmented despite its collective potential.
Through inspiring case studies, practical insights, and meaningful collaboration, we will examine how our industry can contribute to healthier lives, stronger communities, sustainable destinations, economic growth, and greater human connection.
Together, we will continue building the foundations of Vision 2050—a shared ambition to help create a more sustainable and investable global mass participation sports industry and help get one billion more people moving by mid-century.
The future of mass participation is about more than events – it is about people, purpose, and humanity.
